The Women’s Sport Trust (WST) is delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Ballard as our new and first Senior Comms and Marketing Manager.

Emma joins WST following her tenure as Editor of Women & Golf, where she played a key role in amplifying the profile of women’s golf and championing greater visibility and engagement in the sport. With nearly two decades of experience in sports media, PR and communications, she brings a wealth of expertise to her new position.

Commenting on her appointment, Emma said:

“I’m delighted to be joining The Women’s Sport Trust. I’ve long admired and supported the charity, and used their industry-leading insights to educate the wider golf industry about the value of women’s golf at elite level. The charity’s commitment to increasing visibility and driving meaningful change aligns perfectly with my passion for ensuring women’s sport gets the attention it deserves. I look forward to working with Tammy and the team to build on the success of recent campaigns and reports such as The Buck Stops Here and 2024 Visibility Uncovered, helping to push the agenda forward.”

Emma’s experience and dedication to women’s sport make her a fantastic addition to WST. Her deep understanding of media, marketing, and the evolving landscape of women’s sport will be invaluable as we continue to push for increased visibility, commercial investment, and leadership accountability. We’re thrilled to have her in the team.

The appointment comes at a time of continued growing momentum for women’s sport in the UK. Our latest WST reports – The Buck Stops Here, which examines how brands are making decisions around what they sponsor and how they activate their properties in women’s sport, and 2024 Visibility Uncovered, a comprehensive review into the state of media coverage and audience engagement in the UK – highlight the opportunities and actions required to build a self-sustaining women’s sports industry.
