Unlocked Athletes at Paris 2024

The Women’s Sport Trust wants to say a huge congratulations to all the Unlocked athletes who qualified, competed and medaled in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Since its launch in 2020, more than 100 athletes have taken part in Unlocked, which was created to provide an independent support network for sportswomen. 12 of those athletes took home a medal – or in the case of para athlete Sammi Kinghorn, five medals!

Tammy Parlour, CEO at Women’s Sport Trust, said: “We created Unlocked almost five years ago to support female athletes and help them drive change across the industry. It’s been an absolute joy to see so many of them succeed in Paris 2024. The Unlocked athlete group is undoubtedly an exceptional group of women who I truly believe will continue to impact the sporting landscape for the better, both on and off the field of play.”

Sammi Kinghorn said: “Paris 2024 has been the most crazy and amazing experience of my life. Winning my first Paralympic gold medal in the T53 100m will be something I will never, ever forget. I worked so hard in the years running up to these Games and to win 5 medals in front of my friends and family, makes it extra special.”
