Today, The Women’s Sport Trust is excited to launch the recruitment for its next ‘Unlocked’ programme. We are looking for 30 elite female athletes to take part in this unique opportunity.
Unlocked aims to turn up the volume so more female voices can be heard across sport, to help athletes drive change, as well as make the most out of emerging commercial and media opportunities.
Joining our Unlocked squad means access to experts from across the sport, business and media worlds. We will hold webinars and opportunities to hear from industry insiders, as well as provide athletes with their own ‘activator’. The activators are leaders in their field who will share their connections and experience to help our sportswomen tackle the issues and areas they feel passionate about.
Working with the other athletes in the Unlocked group creates a powerful network and a chance to learn from others who face similar challenges and opportunities. Virtual hangouts with the group and The Women’s Sport Trust team will be a valuable source of support and inspiration.
It’s important that we see and hear from different perspectives in sport, so we will provide media, content and speaking opportunities to help improve visibility.
Our Unlocked athletes will come from across the sporting landscape, be at different points in their careers, with a variety of backgrounds and interest. The diversity of the group is what makes it so powerful, so we are actively looking for a wide range of athletes.
The programme is big on impact but light on time as we are conscious of working around training schedules. It will run from March-October but is flexible for all, including Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
